About me

Hi, my name is Koki Sakamoto. I am a student in the graduate school of Information Science and Technology, at Osaka university in Japan. I major in network architectures and study how to create or control virtual networks, focusing on brain function networks of humans.

I am interested not only in networks, but in VR, AI, Web, Network Security and Business. I would like to make new things that make people think, "Don't you have it? How do you live without it?"

Research

As IoT (Internet of Things) services have been launched recently, the scale of networks is getting too large to control and the structure will be more complicated.

So we focused on BFN (Brain Function Network) of humans, which is one of networks with very large scale and complexity, and analized the topology of it in terms of communication networks. As a result, BFN turned out to have more robustness and redundancy and we found that the two factors are brought by fractality.

Fractality is a nature meaning that the ratio of the number of nodes to the enlargement ratio is constant. In the natural world, we can see fractality in cauliflowers or coastlines because fractality in the natural context means a nature that you can see the same structure both from a micro view and from a macro one. So I think communication networks can get more robustness and redundancy by having fractality.

Now I consider how to create fractal networks and also evaluate how robust fractal networks are. If you are interested in this research, I will be glad to hear from you and talk about it. Thanks.
