Welcome to my Homepage
In May 2004, I joined the Advanced Network Architecture Laboratory of the Graduate School of Information Science, Osaka University, as a post-doc researcher. My research was supported by the COE project of New Information Technologies for Building a Symbiotic Environment and deals with the investigation of biologically inspired methods in telecommunication networks. Since July 2006, I have the position of a Specially Appointed Associate Professor funded by the Yuragi-Project. From April 2009 until March 2010, I was supported by the Global COE Program, Center of Excellence for Founding Ambient Information Society Infrastructure by Osaka University. Since April 2010 I am a Senior Researcher with the Brain ICT Lab of the Kobe Advanced Research Center at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and the Center for Information and Neural Networks.
I studied computer science and received my M.Sc. (Dipl.-Inform.) from the University of Würzburg in Germany. After working as a member of the research staff under Prof. Dr. Phuoc Tran-Gia at the Department of Distributed Systems of the University of Würzburg, I received my Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat) in information science with highest honors (summa cum laude) in February 2003. The topic of my thesis was in the field of analytical modeling and performance evaluation of future wireless networks. In 2003, I received the best Ph.D. dissertation award from the German Society of Information Science, Communication in Distributed Systems (GI-KIVS).
